All Star Directories invites teachers, parents, advocates and students to join the conversation about fixing America’s ailing education system

SEATTLE, Wash. – September 27, 2010 – Today, All Star Directories, creator of MySchoolPledge.com and a leading resource for students looking to continue their education at a post-secondary level, announced that together with Junior Achievement of Washington, it will host Seattle’s Education Nation “Meetup” on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center.

Once first in the world, America is now ranked tenth in the percentage of young adults with a college degree. The American education system is failing our kids and many believe it starts in the public school system. Education Nation is a national effort put on by NBC Universal that includes extensive media coverage and in-depth interviews with political leaders, including President Obama. Education Nation culminates in a four-day Summit being held in New York City on Rockefeller Plaza. As part of this initiative, groups are gathering in major markets from coast to coast to discuss key learnings and determine what action can be taken today to catapult change.

The Seattle Meetup encourages people who are on the ground everyday to come out and make their voices heard – parents, teachers, students. Dialogue around what’s working and what isn’t in our education system is the only way to create real change.
