Join Swedish to Celebrate its 100 Year Anniversary with a Staff- wide Photo Shoot … and a "Surprise" Flash Mob to Abba, another product of Sweden

WHAT:  Tuesday, June 1, 2010 marks Swedish’s 100th year anniversary. To commemorate the special day in Swedish’s history, Swedish staff will come together for a large group photo holding signs that spell out the No. 100. A group of flash mob dancers will be dressed as hospital workers and will blend into the group photo. After the photos are taken, the flash mob will surprise the group by breaking into a choreographed dance to the song Dancing Queen by Abba, a band that, like Swedish Hospital, traces its roots back to Sweden. About 40-50 flash mob dancers are expected to participate.  The flash mob is being choreographed by One Degree Events, which also organized the recent Glee flash mob at Westlake Center and the Seattle Michael Jackson flash mobs. Media are invited to attend this opportunity to capture Swedish’s fun flash mob celebration.

WHY:  Swedish is celebrating 100 years of nonprofit service, having been founded in 1910 by Swedish immigrant and surgeon Dr. Nils Johanson. Today, Swedish is the largest health-care system in the Greater Seattle area.
