Quadrant Homes Holds Second Annual Food Drive Benefiting Northwest Harvest

  • With over 4,500 pounds of food donated last year, Quadrant is asking our community to come together to help those most in need

This year, Northwest Harvest, Washington’s statewide hunger relief agency, will once again be getting some help from Quadrant Homes and its homeowners. Between now and November 17, Quadrant Homes will be accepting non-perishable food items at each of its sales centers at the 15 locations throughout the Puget Sound region.

In return for their generosity Quadrant is giving everyone that makes a donation at its sales centers, free tickets to the Seattle Space Needle to use any time before the end of 2009.

“We are thrilled to once-again be teaming up with Northwest Harvest to make the holiday season a little better for everyone in Washington,” said Peter Orser, president of Quadrant Homes. “Northwest Harvest knows the importance of family and community and they play an integral role in providing relief to thousands of people going hungry in our state. We also know that the most important thing, especially around the holidays, is family, and we are happy that we can help families in this way.”

Last year, with the help and generosity of residents of Western Washington, Quadrant Homes was able to donate 4,500 food items to Northwest Harvest, the largest single donation they received. To help make this year’s event an even greater success, Quadrant is asking that anyone who is able, to bring at least one canned or non-perishable food item to any one of the Quadrant Community Sales Centers, (located in DuPont, Kent, Lake Sawyer, Lake Stevens, Marysville, Mount Vernon, Olympia, Port Orchard, Poulsbo, Snoqualmie, Spanaway, Tumwater and Yelm). Donations are also accepted at Quadrant’s New Home Showrooms in Bellevue and Lacey. Visit QuadrantHomes.com/FindYourHome for exact locations and hours.

“We were overwhelmed last year by the generosity of our employees and homeowners, and I know that they will continue that spirit this year,” said Orser. “We understand that family budgets are tight, which is why we are giving away the Space Needle tickets so families can help other families and still have a fun family outing.”

The food drive marks the beginning of Quadrant’s holiday of giving activities.  Quadrant also sponsors a float in the annual Macy’s Holiday Parade on November 28 in downtown Seattle. The company will wrap-up its holiday festivities with a bang as the title sponsor for the Quadrant Homes New Year’s at the Needle festivities at the Space Needle on December 31.
