Momentum Continues at The Landing, Renton's 46-acre Mixed-use, Outdoor Shopping and Dining Destination

  • Nine new retailers announced; Many recently opened or opening this fall
  • Grand opening planned for Spring 2009

The Landing today announced several new dining, retail and service tenants set to open at The Landing beginning this fall and into 2009. Three unique dining options, three new service retailers and three new health and beauty options will fill the window fronts of the outdoor center.

As exterior construction begins to wrap-up, the heart of The Landing is taking shape. The Landing is solidifying its identity as a neighborhood nestled in the South Lake Washington area of Renton. In the coming months as additional boutique shops and restaurants are announced, it will become clear that The Landing will offer residents something previously only found in Seattle – a one-of-a-kind neighborhood huddled into a larger city.

“The Landing is becoming a neighborhood with its own unique identity,” said Bob Baker, CLS, a partner at Harvest Partners, the developer of The Landing. “The Landing is a key to making South Lake Washington a walkable neighborhood where people can meet friends, grab a bite to eat and shop.”

Hip, Regional Food Offerings Add to the Flavor of The Landing
The Landing announced the addition of three new restaurants to a growing list of distinctive dining options offered – The Rock (Wood-Fired Pizza), Izakaya Sushi and Papaya Vietnamese Cuisine will all open before the busy holiday season. These are just a few of nearly many unique dining options planned for The Landing.

“The Rock, Izakaya and Papaya are exactly the type of tenants we’ve been looking for to build the heart of the pedestrian center of this project,” said Baker. “New to market restaurants and established regional chains will build on the community feel and vibrancy already underway at The Landing.”

Do you want wood-fired pizza served in a fun, classic rock ambiance? Then pop into The Rock and choose from a variety of pizzas, all with names of famous rock songs – Bohemian Rhapsody anyone? Or would you prefer the exceedingly popular conveyor-belt style sushi, until now only enjoyed in places like Fremont and University Village? If so, stop by Izakaya Sushi and get your fill of California rolls. If Vietnamese cuisine is more to your liking, let Papaya whisk you away with their exotic recipes.

Pamper Yourself with Three New Health and Beauty Offerings
After filling up on a delicious meal, plan an afternoon escape and make an appointment at one of the new locations designed to cater to your every beauty whim. Spa and beauty options including Element Salon and Spa and Massage Envy will open later this fall and Emerald City Sun will join in early 2009, when we are all in need of a little warmth.

“These three new lifestyle amenities are the options that will draw people from all over to The Landing,” said Baker. “We wanted to be able to offer the services you use the most right next to stores such as Target, Petsmart and Staples, which are frequently on any shoppers list of destinations.”

Running Errands Just Got Easier; Three Convenient Favorites Opening Soon
In addition to the new restaurants and beauty services offered at The Landing, AT&T Wireless, Boeing Credit Union and the UPS Store have also signed on to be tenants at The Landing. These tenants add to the full-service appeal of The Landing by bringing the services you use most to one central location that is easy to access.

“The Landing is the place to go regardless of what you need,” said Baker. “The best part is that you only need to park once, after that, everything is in easy walking distance.”
