Public Relations Senior Account Executive – Consumer + Lifestyle

Experience

In the Senior Account Executive position, the staff member will have fully developed media relations, social media and project management skills. The staffer will be expected to further develop the skills needed to effectively manage accounts independently.

The individual should possess the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver high-quality results. Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism or marketing
  • Three to five years working as an employee in PR, journalism or marketing, agency experience preferred
  • Experience with media monitoring tools such as Cision, TVEyes, Meltwater, Lexis Nexus and social media tools such as Hootsuite, Simply Measured, SEM Rush, Agora is a plus
  • Experience with project management tools such as Basecamp is a plus
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to interpret research, formulate public relations plans or programs
  • Strong written and verbal skills with knowledge of AP style
  • Candidate must have an engaged social media persona

Responsibilities:

Account Management

  • Serve as dedicated team member on multiple accounts
  • Serve as primary and/or secondary client contact for assigned accounts; play a clear day-to-day role in client communications
  • Independently lead key client projects from start to finish, including supervision of junior staff and approval process with senior staff
  • Provide oversight of work plan, scope of work, deliverables and activities for client—working to deliver results while overseeing junior staff work
  • Ensures all client facing materials are proofed and meet Fearey standards
  • Significantly contribute to development and execution of public relations plans
  • Research and analyze industry and competitor trends, providing insightful recommendations to team and client to drive public relations goals
  • Provide measurements and metrics for accounts
  • Drive client facing meetings, including development of agenda, briefing of senior staff and facilitation of discussion in client meeting
  • Review call notes and recaps to be distributed to clients
  • Develop weekly reports and monthly activity reports
  • In certain cases, develop mini-plans or account activities and then implement with desired results
  • Responsible for creation of client content materials including, but not limited to, news releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, briefing books, pitch letters, Q&As, metrics and general client correspondence
  • Generate ideas for programs that map to client objectives and conduct relevant research
  • Support tracking and reporting for all accounts
  • Contribute elements to renewal of client accounts
  • May manage junior staff and serve as an ongoing mentor
  • Manage regular check-ins with manager, create agendas and drive conversation

Media Relations

  • Oversee media monitoring and daily news tracking performed by other team members
  • Oversee media pitching efforts and take the lead in major media initiatives, showing measurable results
  • Develop an extensive network of top-tier contacts (local and/or industry specific media, business executives), with media relations/pitching and executive outreach skills fully developed
  • Successfully plan, escort and lead client activities such as press trips, media tours, media introductions, trade shows, press conferences, live streams, and other special events
  • Flag appropriate coverage to client

Social Media

  • Develop and manage client social/digital campaigns
  • Review and draft content, including tweets, as well as other social channels posts; going beyond the posts, too, and engaging with communities
  • Review and draft social media editorial calendars
  • Create social media creative on regular basis
  • Develop social media audience matrixes to best understand where a client’s audience lives and how they communicate online
  • Work with team to monitor client social media channels
  • Help manage client social media properties, create content, engage with influencers and other target audiences
  • Own offering recommendations on improving social/digital efforts with account lead
  • Actively support Fearey marketing by creating social media content, blog posts and other activities on behalf of the agency

Business Development

  • Understand and grow business with current clients, as appropriate
  • Participate in new business proposals and pitches, as appropriate
  • Conduct research to support development of new business proposals for senior staff
  • Assist with development of presentation materials
  • Participate in team strategy, brainstorming meetings
