Quadrant Homes Expands Presence in South Sound Region

  • State’s Largest Homebuilder to Open a New Home Showroom in Lacey
  • Regional Growth Plans Call for More Than 700 New Homes in 2007

LACEY, Washington - December 11, 2006

Quadrant Homes, Washington’s largest homebuilder, announced plans to open a 10,000-square-foot New Home Showroom in Lacey, Washington as part of the company’s significant growth plans for Thurston County and the surrounding region.

The new location, which will open to the public on December 11 in the Freedom Point Plaza in Lacey, represents Quadrant’s second New Home Showroom in Puget Sound.  The Lacey location will serve homebuyers in Quadrant’s new and existing communities in Thurston County and the surrounding area, including: The Ridge at McCormick Woods in Port Orchard, Northwest Landing in Dupont, Tahoma Meadow in Yelm, Brookside in Bonney Lake, The Ridge at Suncrest  and Deschutes River Highlands in Tumwater, and Autumn Woods in Spanaway.  These communities represent more than 700 new homes that Quadrant expects to build in the area in the coming year.

“The South Sound housing market continues to benefit from strong job and population growth in the area, and we look forward to introducing several high-quality, affordable new home communities in this area to help fulfill growing homebuyer demand,” said Peter Orser, president of Bellevue-based Quadrant Homes. “Quadrant’s popularity with homebuyers in the Puget Sound region has resulted in six new homes built every working day, and our goal is to leverage this growing momentum by extending our homebuilding operations in the growing Thurston County area.”

The New Home Showroom, which will be open to the public 7 days a week, allows Quadrant homebuyers to choose exactly which features they want in their new Quadrant home, based on their unique lifestyle and budget. The showroom provides hands-on displays of more than 5,000 choices, including carpeting and hardwoods, Delta faucets, sinks, light fixtures, tubs, showers and Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid appliances, among others. This type of showroom and the variety of choices offered are not matched by any other builder in the Pacific Northwest.

Quadrant’s communities also feature “Lifestyle Plans,” which are designed to offer homebuyers maximum flexibility in customizing their home design.  With Quadrant’s Lifestyle Plans, homebuyers can select from many different base floor plans available and then reconfigure the layout to suit their specific lifestyle needs, often at no extra cost. Homebuyers have the freedom to change the location of family rooms, kitchens, garage space, or even adding bedrooms and bathrooms.  Quadrant is the only Washington homebuilder that offers this unique flexibility to homebuyers.

Quadrant homes are pre-sold and built using a best practice "even flow building" approach, which allows Quadrant to build homes more efficiently with a predictable schedule and pass the resulting cost savings on to the customer. Each home takes 54 working days to build, which is about 24 days less than the average new home construction schedule.

Quadrant pioneered the Puget Sound region’s “Built Green” program to promote environmentally friendly homebuilding practices, and will employ the same rigorous green building standards in its new markets that have earned the company a 3-star Built Green certification from Washington state’s Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. Every Quadrant home is built green using state-of-the-art construction methods to conserve energy, improve air quality, conserve water, recycle materials and preserve natural resources. Quadrant has also been named an ENERGY STAR partner homebuilder.
