One of the Pacific Northwest’s leading caterers, Lisa Dupar, and her husband and business partner, Jonathan Zimmer, are here to make your meal planning easy this holiday season. Lisa and Jonathan are preparing a slew of November/December events and dinners that can help you surprise your family and friends with a one-of-a-kind holiday meal – without spending all day in the kitchen.   

Here are some upcoming classes and events offered by Lisa, Jonathan, Lisa Dupar Catering and Pomegranate Bistro that will help make your holiday meal a special culinary event:  

“Sharing Secret Family Recipes with Chefs Dupar and Pino,”
6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 14. Cost: $55

Come and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn Chef Ernie Pino’s secret family recipe for yellow squash pudding, which dates back to the 1700s. This Old World Spanish dessert recipe has been touted by Seattle’s top chefs as “scrumptious.” Chef Lisa Dupar will also share her grandmother’s secret recipe for Dark Wine Fruitcake that dates back to the 1940s, and is a yearly tradition in her family.

This class will teach you some new and old techniques that will help you prepare a delectable holiday dessert that will have your guests talking for years to come. Class includes many savory treats and libations to get you in a festive mood for the upcoming season!

Join us for Thanksgiving Dinner at Pomegranate
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, November 23. Cost: $42 per person

Don’t feel like cooking on Thanksgiving? Well – thank goodness we do! Let us take care of you and your family at our restaurant. Starting at 11 a.m. we will serve our Thanksgiving menu “family style” directly from our kitchen to your table. Space is limited for this special event, and reservations are required. Turkey A Go-Go Thanksgiving Pick Up Menu:

Cost: $33 per person. Minimum 6 guests

Bring our delicious Thanksgiving meal home to your family, with our Thanksgiving meal that features Lisa’s Southern Roast Turkey and all the fixin’s, including: crispy romaine, carrot and shaved fennel salad with dried cranberries and maple dressing; Pumpkin sweet potato-pecan soufflé, oven caramelized cippolini onions and green beans; Brandied orange cranberry sauce; Garlic mashed potatoes with rich herbed gravy; mushroom sausage stuffing; baskets of Lily White Buttermilk Drop Biscuits with honey butter; and a dessert choice of chocolate bourbon pecan pie, sweet potato pie; or American pumpkin pie with flaky crust. Orders must be placed 48 hours in advance. Meals are to be picked up on Thanksgiving Day.

Bring in 2007 with Pomegranate Bistro’s
New Years Eve Prix Fixe Dinner
Sunday, December 31, 2006.
Cost: $75 per person/ $110 per person (wines included)

The first dinner seating will be from 5 to 8 p.m., and the second seating will be from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. with a special champagne toast.Menu features: Petite Pot of Foie Gras; Not Your Classic Rockefeller Oysters; Yellow Curry Butternut Squash Soup; French Sea Salt Butter Lobster Cofit on Parsnip Pancakes drizzled with Champagne Caviar; and for dessert, Midnight Madness: Jim’s Dark Venezuelan Chocolate, Caramel and Burnt Sugar Bombe.
