Teragren Introduces New Bamboo Parquet Butcher Block & Bamboo Casing

Teragren (www.teragren.com), the nation’s leading manufacturer of environmentally-friendly bamboo flooring, panels and veneer, today announced that it has expanded its product line of beautiful, durable and renewable bamboo to include two new products: Teragren Bamboo Parquet Butcher Block and Teragren Bamboo Casing.

Available in natural and caramelized colors, Teragren’s Bamboo Parquet Butcher Block is perfect for counters or tabletops and is manufactured in standard sizes with a formaldehyde-free and food-safe adhesive. Teragren’s Bamboo Casing, also available in natural and caramelized colors, is great for interior doors, windows and architectural moldings and trims.

The demand for environmentally friendly building products and materials is rising. According to the Residential Green Building SmartMarket Report, there was a 20 percent increase in the number of homebuilders producing green, environmentally responsible homes in 2005. The study indicates that number will grow by another 30 percent this year. 

“We’re thrilled about the increasing demand for green products,” said Knight. “In keeping with our tradition of innovation, Teragren is also pursuing the development of additional bamboo products such as outdoor decking, structural bamboo and other building products.”

As a manufacturer, Teragren can guarantee the quality of its products, unlike those coming from alternate sources such as discounters, importers or trading houses in China. The company also uses materials that meet stringent European and U.S. environmental standards. Its bamboo production is controlled from harvest to final product.

Earlier this year, Teragren introduced Synergy Strand Bamboo flooring, a product created through a patented manufacturing process that fuses together bamboo strands with an environmentally safe adhesive, resulting in flooring that is 100 percent harder than red oak. The company announced in June that it has secured an exclusive licensing agreement, in which all strand bamboo sales in the U.S. and Mexico, including flooring, flooring accessories and panels, will now be subject to Teragren’s rights in the patents. Acquiring these patents allows Teragren to control the quality of all strand bamboo products—ultimately benefiting consumers and the bamboo products industry overall.
