CollinsWoerman Experiences Significant Growth as Twenty New Architects, Interior Designers Join Organization

  • New Employees Bolster Firm’s Capabilities in Corporate, Commercial,
    Community Planning, Healthcare, Residential, Retail and Mixed-Use Markets  

Seattle, WA.—May 17, 2006

CollinsWoerman, one of Seattle’s largest architecture, planning and design firms, today announced that it has recently added more than 20 new positions to its existing staff, a 25 percent increase in the firm’s employee base.

“We have experienced significant growth in our market sectors and our architecture and planning services are in high demand,” said Mark Woerman, co-founder and principal of CollinsWoerman. “We have created a unique environment for employees and, as we strive to reach our goals in terms of strategic growth, we continue to look for bright new architects and designers to join our team.”

The new members includes several architects and interior designers who will contribute to the firm’s projects in corporate, commercial, community planning, healthcare, residential, retail and mixed-use market sectors.

Architecture

CollinsWoerman’s architecture practice has been significantly strengthened by the addition of senior architects Douglas Bailey, Art Garcia and Michael Osburn.

In addition, Mike Derry, Mike Juenke and Vahid Khastou have also joined the firm as architect. Ten new intern architects include Danielle Anderson, Winmay Au, Nathan Copley, Andrew Lacko, Crystal Loya, Andy Morrison, Patil Ruta, Dale Paul, Leif Pearson and Alberto Serrano.

Interior Design

Two new additions to the interior design team include practice leader Helen Brown and interior designer Carole Kassir-Garcia.

Stephanie deVilla and Heather Nye will also contribute to the practice as interior designers.

Graphic Design

Graphic designer Yoshimi Yamazaki has also joined the team.

CollinsWoerman moved into 25,000 square feet of newly designed and renovated space at the historic Dexter Horton Building in Seattle to accommodate its growth in 2005. The firm currently has 96 employees.

The firm’s current projects include 2200, Vulcan, Inc.’s signature mixed-use project that will include a Whole Foods Market, Pan Pacific Hotel and 261 condos and is slated to open September 2006; Washington Square, a mixed-use project in Bellevue, Wash. that spans an entire block; and a mixed-use project in Wenatchee that overlooks the Columbia River.
