TERAGREN, CCA GLOBAL PARTNERS SIGN AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE TERAGREN'S FINE BAMBOO FLOORING TO CCA RETAILERS
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WA - February 01, 2006 CCA is a formidable leader in the flooring industry, operating more than 2,000 floor covering operations in North America. Teragren's current distribution network is expected to double in size as a result of the agreement. "We are very excited about this partnership with CCA," said Teragren President and CEO, David Knight. "As the largest retail flooring group in North America, CCA has an excellent network of top retailers. Teragren bamboo flooring products will now be available to an even broader consumer audience and our revenue expectations for 2006 and beyond have increased significantly as a result of this agreement." "Teragren has great brand recognition because their products are of the highest quality," said Randy Gum, Vice President, Hard Surfaces, of CCA Global. "As the only bamboo manufacturer offering a full line of bamboo products in a wide variety of dimensions, colors and price points, Teragren bamboo is in high demand. It's also a great alternative to traditional hardwoods for our rapidly growing segment of environmentally-conscious consumers." Included among the retailers in CCA's extensive global network are CarpetOne, the world's largest floor covering retailer with more than 1,000 independently-owned and operated locations; and Flooring America, a cooperative of more than 575 member-owned floor covering stores throughout the United States and Canada. In 2004, aggregate annual sales volume for all stores of CCA-affiliated companies was $8.7 billion--up 544 percent since 1996. Under the terms of the agreement, CCA members will have access to Teragren's seven complete bamboo flooring product lines, all accessories, and stairparts. Additionally, Teragren will offer custom dimensions in stairtreads and risers for those one-of-a-kind installations. The program will formally launch in February 2006. Teragren bamboo addresses the increasing demand for green products, which has grown significantly in recent years. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, the annual market for green building products and services for 2004 was $7 billion, representing 37 percent growth over the prior year. As pioneers in the green building industry, Teragren's factory capacity, volume and sales have grown significantly each year. Teragren recently introduced SYNERGY strand, a new solid bamboo flooring product that is 100% harder than oak and 43 percent harder than Teragren's standard bamboo flooring. The flooring features an exotic, variegated design that provides a dramatic rich style to the flooring product, which is ideal for commercial as well as residential installations. Early in 2005, Teragren also introduced the bamboo industry's first machine-applied stained color bamboo flooring product line which features Espresso, Cherry, Walnut and Charcoal colors. The flooring offers the beauty of bamboo in stained colors without losing the bamboo nodes and unique grain pattern. Coordinating accessories, stairtreads and risers complete this product line.
