  • SITUATION
  • Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company (WRECO) is developing three master-planned communities (Northwest Landing, Snoqualmie Ridge, Redmond Ridge) in the Puget Sound region.

  • All were started in a time of “no growth” public sentiment and have been challenged in all phases of development, permitting, building and sales and marketing.
  • SOLUTION
  • The Fearey Group designed a public relations campaign that was integrated with the client’s marketing and public affairs activities.

  • Using media relations, a speakers bureau, issues management and direct mail, we set out to increase awareness of MPCs and their key messages among target audiences of homebuyers, retailers and commercial developers.
  • RESULTS
  • Media placements in 2004 alone reached 285 placements.

  • Positive media coverage was received from local TV network affiliates, local print publications including The Seattle Times and national publications such as The New York Times.

  • The value of editorial coverage in 2004 exceeded $21 million.

  • The enhanced credibility stemming from the campaign helped all three communities surpass their sales goals for 2001 and beyond.
