Six Flags
The Pacific Northwest’s largest theme and water park located in Federal Way, Wash.
- SITUATION
- Six Flags purchased the family-owned park in 2000 and hoped to increase its awareness in the local market as well as reach the outlying areas of the Pacific Northwest.

- Local residents were concerned that Six Flags would come in and grow the park too fast and without regard to the community.
- SOLUTION
- The Fearey Group developed a media relations plan that would strengthen Six Flags local presence, communicate its efforts at being a good neighbor, and demonstrate its ability to bring more tourism and tax revenue to the city.
- RESULTS
- Media relations efforts have covered the announcements of major rides, including the 10 new rides added in 2002 and the 2003 launch of TimberHawk, the Pacific Northwest’s biggest roller coaster.
