Background

One of Seattle’s most significant hotels, The Red Lion Downtown Seattle, needed a major change. Although it was a historic part of the city, it was often overlooked by Seattleites and potential guests. In hopes of breathing life back into this unique hotel, Motif Seattle was born.

Strategies

The Fearey Group first had to establish a cohesive media engagement strategy and a comprehensive brand roll-out to introduce a new upscale hotel, rich in Seattle’s fashion scene.

The Fearey Group pulled together a plan that included outreach to local press and invited elite fashion and lifestyle bloggers for intimate media previews, garnering significant social media and traditional coverage. Involving the community made an especially meaningful impact, officially kicking off the new brand in a highly talked-about way.

Results

Motif Seattle made its grand entrance into the hospitality scene with nearly 40 press inquiries, of which over 90 percent were converted into placements. The total campaign coverage yielded 76 million impressions. The Fearey Group secured community involvement on behalf of Motif Seattle for such events as Fashion First, Seattle Fashion Week, Seattle Bloggers Network, and FGI International, and continues to make sure Motif Seattle stays one of the area’s hottest hotels.
