Paris Air Show Video Highlights Washington State’s Aerospace Leadership

SEATTLE – June 19, 2017 – The Fearey Group, a leading independent public relations and public affairs firm in Seattle, has joined forces with the Washington State Department of Commerce to share a video focused on the current state of Washington’s renowned aerospace industry. The Washington aerospace video will have its first showing at the 52nd Annual International Paris Air Show from June 19 to June 25, 2017.

“Our team is proud to play a role in ensuring the long-term prosperity for one of the state’s key economic drivers,” said Aaron Blank, CEO of The Fearey Group. “Washington is a global leader in the aerospace industry, and we are excited to see what new innovations the next few years might bring to our home state.”

The International Paris Air Show is the largest, longest-running aerospace trade show in the world. Every two years, nearly 300 official delegations from 91 countries and more than 2,300 international companies come together in Paris to seize fresh commercial opportunities, form new partnerships and unveil the latest innovations and developments in aviation and space technologies.

“We are happy to continue our partnership with Commerce and support their efforts to further the legacy and prominence of Washington’s aerospace industry,” said Blank. “It is truly an honor to share this video with the world.”

A delegation from Washington state and the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA) will be attending the show on behalf of the state’s aerospace industry to advocate for its growth and attract continued investment in Washington state.

“After building more than a century of leadership in this industry, Washington state’s entrepreneurial culture continues shaping the future of flight and space exploration,” said Washington state Commerce Director Brian Bonlender, who will co-lead the state delegation with U.S. Congressman Rick Larsen. “A strong aerospace industry strengthens communities by creating the next generation of experts who will envision and hold the jobs of the future.”

This year, Washington state is producing 36 percent of U.S. aerospace exports, an 11 percent increase since 2014. Nine of every 10 commercial aircrafts manufactured in America are made in Washington. The state’s aerospace industry is comprised of more than 1,400 firms employing more than 136,000 people.
